When we think about computers, the first thing that usually comes to mind is an assembly of monitor, CPU, keyboard, mouse, hoofers, modem all connected via wires. However, there could be no use with these individual parts if they are not integrated to have the proper working. Life is made very comfortable with these technical innovations. Software helps in integrating the functionalities of all these hardware parts. It gives life to all these parts. How would you watch your favorite movie or surf the internet with just wires connecting various dumb parts? Computer Software supplies gives you that chance to explore the different aspects of your PC or laptop.
Ask a lay man what does the term software mean? In technical terms computer software refers to programs that control and activates the hardware component. It could mean application software like word processor, a firmware used on electronic circuit boards or even middleware that controls the distributed control systems. The basic software present in every household or office is the operating system in the personal computer. Without that, you would not find the start button on the bottom left of your screen or the host of icons providing innumerable applications.
The kinds of computer software would mainly include system software, programming software or application software. System software helps in running the computer. The computer software supplies device drivers and the operating system. Some of the examples are windows-xp, Linux, Unix etc. Programming software helps in writing the programs which are executed by the processors. In simple terms, they are called the machine codes. Application software will enable various tasks like image editing, surfing the internet, word processing, computer gaming and a lot more options to keep us busy.
Soft ware comes in variety of applications with different functions. The process of building and using them are very different. It is used in various aspects such as the finance, information technology, mining, gaming, editing and many more. You can make a lot of money by developing and selling softwares. Are you confused? Have you heard about Bill Gates or Larry Ellison. The current software industry also provides a scope for recruitment. This is primarily because of the high pay checks that are offered. Don’t bother asking me how?
The quality and the numbers of Software are improving almost everyday. We started with floppy disks and then came upon disk drives. Today we have invented the USB drives, Bluetooth technology. The Blue ray Disks are believed to be eliminating the need of even DVD drives. These days, mini computers are even embedded in our mobile phones. The most important factor that has led to such soft ware expansion is that they are highly reliable.
Most of the application software is easily available over the internet. However, one should be careful enough not to download any malicious software which might hack your computer. The computer software supplies with all the technology that makes life easy and comfortable.

First of all let me tell you one thing that before microsoft there was very little scope for personal computers and softwares related to those computers. Still there were some softwares and software building programming languages. FORTRAN or formula translation, the first high level programming language, was invented by John Backus for IBM, in 1954, and released commercially, in 1957. It is still used today for programming scientific and mathematical applications. Fortran began as a digital code interpreter for the IBM 701 and was originally named Speedcoding. John Backus wanted a programming language closer to human language, which is the definition of a high level language.
At that time the softwares available were Aldus Pagemaker, Trillian, Wordstar, Computer Chess, VisiCalc Spreadsheet. WordStar – The First Word Processor Released in 1979 by Micropro International, WordStar was the first commercially successful word processing software program produced for microcomputers and the best selling software program of the early eighties. first desktop publishing program was created by Paul Brainard and a company called Aldus, the program called "Aldus Pagemaker 1.0" was released in July, 1985 for the "Macintosh" and in December, 1986, for the "IBM". If you go with the history of operating system than previously there was nothing except UNIX.

To become a software engineer its not a must that u should take computer science in ur 11th n 12th
u should be good at mathematics ,physics and chemistry in ur entrance examination 'TNPCEE' Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examination IF IN TAMILNADU
n u can also take AIEEE All India Engineering Entrance Examination which helps u enter in IIT Indian Institute of Technology……
u must prepare well for this exam……
Questions will be only from ur hsc books in TNPCEE and for AIEEE it'll be very easy if u r a CBSE STUDENT

well .. im not sure about the best … but ulead cd and dvd pictureshow is prety easy to use and puts out a prety good result … albeit its slow processing the end result if ur slideshow is large …

Don't forget to put in some fun stuff too; many people get annoyed when they realize how much work it is to keep a Windows system working.
Try some art stuff, photo editing, etc.
A great site for creating 'scrapbooks' they can share with family & friends is 'Scrapbook Flair';
Make all kinds of great photo albums, with text, pic frames, tons of effects.
Make the album just like you want, then for each page you've made, do a 'print screen'> save into a folder> crop away the non-page stuff> re-save.
Now you have items you can view, save to disk, put in a slideshow for off line viewing, printing; almost anything.
And you can have free webspace to show the album, to friends (private viewing) or the public…all free.
No pop-up ads, spyware, junk, etc.

Depends on the kind of computer job you are doing, but its normally 8-5 or 9-6. If your project involves frequent coordination with clients outside your country to on-site installation/administration then you might have to work odd hours.
