Effective Computer Software Training

Unfortunately, without some sort of professional software training, a lot of times these types of ’shortcuts’ to improved efficiency are never learned. So, let’s take a few minutes to look at the various types of computer software information available to the computer user today.
One method that is very popular today is the hands on method of computer programming information. While this is very popular, there are a couple of different avenues that this particular method can be approached. One method is to hire a tutor. While this is probably the most direct and successful method, it can also be the most expensive. Tutors for any variety of training usually charge by the hour, although you will gain one-on-one training and attention from the tutor during your class time together. Another popular method is to take a community class that may be offered by some group in your area. Often computer clubs, civic groups, and local schools may offer introductory the type of information that will allow for hands-on learning. However, these are often followed up by attempting to sell you on another class, book, etc.
Computers and learning can also become hands-on when you have a video or other on-screen directions to guide you through the learning process. One such program that has become very popular over the last few years is the Video Professor. His program is seen all the time on late night TV infomercials and is now online as well. Offering introductory your information for free, he follows up with a variety of paid sales programs to get the most bang out of his advertising buck. There is nothing wrong with this, just as long as you know what you are getting into. This is one of the most appealing methods of gaining the information you require because you can do the study on your own terms and in your time, on the exact software subject of your choice.
Probably the most simple, and the most cost effective method of obtaining this process is the most overlooked today. With almost each and every computer program that you purchase there are three types of documentation included in your purchase: the software manual, internal software help programs, and the online help program. Each of these is a mini course in and of itself. First you should read the entire program manual that comes with the software. This will contain many shortcuts and efficiency aiding devices that are built into the software. Next, you should take the time to read through all of the topics built into the software help program. This will be one of the best sources of learning for that particular version of software.
Last, but certainly not least, you will find the online support or help most effective in solving those few areas of troubled functioning you are having with the software. Perhaps there is a tough formatting issue that you are trying to solve. Oftentimes, availing yourself of the assistance of the online support forums can be the very best information for this training which is available. After all, it is from the people who actually wrote the software to begin with. You cannot get any better computer software training advice than that!

I like AOL Active Virus Shield. Don't let the name AOL fool you. Active Virus Shield is made by Kaspersky which is one of top-rated anti-virus vendors in the world.
In recent tests, the most popular free anti-virus, AVG, was only able to detect about 82% of a very large sample of viruses. On the other hand, Active Virus Shield was able to detect better than 99% in the same test.
Full test chart is here:
http://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/default.asp?id=82&mnu=82
Active Virus Shield has excellent virus detection rates and is extremely light on using your computer resources. (6mb ram)
Active Virus Shield detects and removes spyware, also.
And it updates up to 15 times a day with new virus definitions, 7 days a week.
Good stuff, free for everyone from:

hi,
First of all let me tell you one thing that before microsoft there was very little scope for personal computers and softwares related to those computers. Still there were some softwares and software building programming languages. FORTRAN or formula translation, the first high level programming language, was invented by John Backus for IBM, in 1954, and released commercially, in 1957. It is still used today for programming scientific and mathematical applications. Fortran began as a digital code interpreter for the IBM 701 and was originally named Speedcoding. John Backus wanted a programming language closer to human language, which is the definition of a high level language.
At that time the softwares available were Aldus Pagemaker, Trillian, Wordstar, Computer Chess, VisiCalc Spreadsheet. WordStar – The First Word Processor Released in 1979 by Micropro International, WordStar was the first commercially successful word processing software program produced for microcomputers and the best selling software program of the early eighties. first desktop publishing program was created by Paul Brainard and a company called Aldus, the program called "Aldus Pagemaker 1.0" was released in July, 1985 for the "Macintosh" and in December, 1986, for the "IBM". If you go with the history of operating system than previously there was nothing except UNIX.

Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some registry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".
Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!

Henry,
Check into this site for about 3 acres of freeware; arranged in categories.
Don't forget to put in some fun stuff too; many people get annoyed when they realize how much work it is to keep a Windows system working.
Try some art stuff, photo editing, etc.
A great site for creating 'scrapbooks' they can share with family & friends is 'Scrapbook Flair';
Make all kinds of great photo albums, with text, pic frames, tons of effects.
Make the album just like you want, then for each page you've made, do a 'print screen'> save into a folder> crop away the non-page stuff> re-save.
Now you have items you can view, save to disk, put in a slideshow for off line viewing, printing; almost anything.
And you can have free webspace to show the album, to friends (private viewing) or the public…all free.
No pop-up ads, spyware, junk, etc.
Very easy to use. I'm sure you'd like this.

Depends on the kind of computer job you are doing, but its normally 8-5 or 9-6. If your project involves frequent coordination with clients outside your country to on-site installation/administration then you might have to work odd hours.
